Position Summary: The Sales Development Internship role is a 10-week, hands-on summer internship designed for college students interested in learning the fundamentals of B2B sales, business development, and professional communication. This internship mirrors the Sales Development Representative role while emphasizing structured learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-world sales environments. Interns will gain practical experience in prospect research, outbound communication, and sales process fundamentals while developing skills that translate to future sales, marketing, or business careers. This role is ideal for a highly adaptable, entrepreneurial individual with a displayed interest in sales, a strong analytical foundation, and the ability to take personal ownership of special projects that accelerate market penetration and revenue growth. Qualifications required: Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program from a college or university (Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field) Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical capabilities and experience using data to identify conclusions. High level of organization, discipline, and follow-through. Coachable mindset with a desire to learn and grow within sales. Ability to commit to the full 10-week program. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some exposure to CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce). Qualifications desired: Familiarity with AI tools or data platforms Experience in developing and nurturing partner relationships to drive sales. Self-starter with a mindset for strategic growth. Essential functions and responsibilities: Learn CornerStone Staffing’s service offerings, target markets, and ideal client profiles. Conduct market and account-level research to identify target industries, companies, and decision-makers. Leverage competitive intelligence, internal data, and market trends to prioritize outreach targets. Build and maintain prospect pipelines via outbound calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn outreach. Initiate conversations with prospective clients to assess needs, timing, and fit. Qualify leads, either through outbound activity or inbound communication, and schedule discovery meetings for senior sales team members. Collaborate with sales team members and other internal stakeholders to refine messaging, targeting, and campaign strategy. Support special projects that enhance CornerStone’s market intelligence, competitive positioning, and service offerings. Attend and represent CornerStone at targeted networking events, conferences, and regional business associations. Track, document, and report on sales activities and results through Salesforce in an accurate and timely manner. Participate in ongoing sales training, coaching, and call reviews. Consistently meet or exceed metrics tied to market activation, meeting volume, and qualified opportunities. Complete structured learning modules focused on sales fundamentals and career development.
